We suggest you read these directions prior to viewing the video. Everything in these directions will be demonstrated and explained in the video. Refer back to the video from time to time to be sure your motion matches the motion seen in the video. All KwiK-Hands stickhandling balls are made from forged steel and are not for shooting or throwing.
With most
stick handling balls you are allowed to cheat. The KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling
System puts an end to this cheating. Since the KwiK–Hands™ stick handling
balls are designed to not slide, proper wrist motion (rolling) must be
maintained if the balls are to be moved properly. By following the PATENT
PENDING KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling Method a significant improvement in stick
handling skills may be seen. It’s this method that we turned into a very
successful system.
What makes the KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling System unique? It
reinforces through repetition the proper wrist motion. It's this motion that we
want to commit to memory. With the KwiK–Hands™
Stick Handling System, you could be
doing more than 360 reps in less than 10 minutes! In 10 days, you're up to
3,600 reps and in 30 days you're up to 10,800 reps, after one day you can
receive more reps than you would in 3-4 games! This is what the KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling System is all about.
How it works. The PATENT PENDING KwiK–Hands™
Stick Handling System is broken into
levels. Start at the lowest level possible and work up. If you cannot move the
Level 1 ball a minimum of 2 feet using the proper motion then move to the next
level. The same rule applies to all levels. Begin and end each set by stick
handling a golf ball. If done properly you will be able to see and feel the
difference after each set. One set consists of one execution beginning at the
appropriate level and working your way up to the highest level. Do no less than
30 reps and no more than 50 reps per level. A single rep consists of one
movement left to right (or right to left). Watch the stick for proper movement.
Keep your bottom hand loose and remember that it is used to steady the stick
and does not participate in the rolling of the upper hand's wrist.
With your feet positioned under your shoulders, start with your KwiK–Hands™
ball in front of you and aligned with your right foot. Cup the ball on the heel
of the stick, and be sure the tip of the blade crosses the front of the ball.
Now twist (or roll) your wrist, try to move the ball across to your left foot.
Remember, only use your lower hand to steady the stick. If necessary, try using
only your thumb and index finger and form a ring around the shaft to steady the
stick. Quickly lift your stick to meet the ball on the left side. That will
complete the first rep. Repeat from left to right to complete the second rep.
Remember do no less than 30 and no more than 50 reps. Repeat this procedure for
each level. The single most important thing to remember, is this, do the reps
correctly. If you repeat the wrong technique, you'll remember and execute the
wrong technique. Always watch your stick position and motion when doing your
reps.
The ball must move a minimum of 2 feet (or from one foot to the other). Always
concentrate on using the proper form, the distance the ball will travel will
increase when the proper form is used and maximum wrist snap is achieved. While
this same technique can be used to practice stick handling on the side and
behind your body, it is not recommended until you have mastered the technique
in front of your body. Never use a level that is too heavy for you. As you
become more proficient with the system, each ball will begin to travel farther
and faster. As with any physical activity, stop if you encounter any pain. To
keep your stick handling skills at the highest level possible, do your 3 sets
each and every day.
All KwiK–Hands™ stick handling balls are precision made, of forged carbon steel
and can be used on rubber surfaces, concrete and asphalt. It can be used
anywhere you have the room to lay down a 1/2 inch foam rubber mat that is 2
feet x 4 feet. While you can use a rug or other type of mat our testing has
shown that the 1/2 inch foam rubber mat provides the proper amount of
resistance. Since the balls are made of steel they will develop a rust coating
if exposed to moisture. If this occurs simply wipe with a damp cloth, dry the
ball.
All
KwiK-Hands stickhandling balls are made from forged steel and are not for
shooting or throwing. Serious bodily injury and/or property damage can result
from improper use of this product. All KwiK-Hands stickhandling balls are
intended to be used exclusively for stickhandling and soft passing. KwiK-Hands
will not be responsible for any injury or property damage caused by improper
use of this product.
The 4 levels can be explained as follows:
The Level 1 and Level 2
balls are both workout balls.
Always
use the proper motion when using any stick handling ball.

Due to the hardness of these balls we recommend that they
be used with either wood or plastic blades. Always use a stick with the proper
lie and length. As a very general rule the top of the stick should come
somewhere between your chin and collar bone and the tip of the stick should be
placed in the middle of the top hands palm. Don’t use a large butt end since
this will inhibit your stickhandling abilities. This is just a general rule
since all players have different tendencies, some skate more erect and others
like to bend, defenseman sometimes like a longer stick, and some forwards like
a shorter stick. You can tell if you have the proper lie by the wear on the
bottom of your stick. Remember a large heel curve will inhibit your
stickhandling. When developing your skills try to stay away from this type of
curve. Do not use tape, it will inhibit the effectiveness of the balls and make
the technique harder to master. Once the technique has been mastered cloth tape
can be used to increase the level of difficulty. Friction tape will provide the
most difficult workout.
When the KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling System is properly
followed we have seen a dramatic increase in the stick handling skills of youth
hockey players. A young hockey player's confidence increases when his stick
handling skills increase. It is very important to be sure the youth hockey
player has sufficient stick handling skills at a young age. It is essential that the player master the
art of stick handling before he plays a high level of hockey. A player cannot
keep his head up in a game if he can't stick handle properly. During a game
there is no time to try to develop your stick handling skills. It must be
automatic. Use the KwiK–Hands™ Stick Handling System properly every day
to increase your stick handling skills. Above all HAVE FUN!
